Sparkling Science: Science linking with School - School linking with Science

With the Sparkling Science programme the Federal Ministry of Science and Research (BMWF) supports projects in which schoolchildren are actively involved in research processes. In these projects the schoolchildren support the researchers in their research work and in the presentation of the research results to the public.

Since March 2009 the OeAD-GmbH has been commissioned with the administration of the Sparkling Science programme by the BMWF.

The main tasks of the team:

• Carrying out the yearly calls and evaluation procedure
• Concluding the funding contracts on behalf of the provider of the funds
• Public relations activities (updating the homepage, editing of print materials, text editing,…)
• Organisation of meetings of the scientific board and the national advisory council
• Organisation of the yearly Sparkling Science congress
• The Sparkling Science office is the contact and coordination point for all enquiries of the recipients of funding. It also provides information about all aspects of the Sparkling Science programme.
