EPU: East, Central and South Asia
The Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) was established in 2001 with the objective of creating an educational network for Austrian universities, universities of applied sciences and other educational institutions in Central Asia, East Asia and the Pacific. It comprises a great number of international partners of all fields of research and supports projects in the areas of research, research-based teaching and art as well as technology cooperations.
The president is Univ.-Prof. Dr. Brigitte Winklehner.
At present the following countries take part:
Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Korea, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan
Target Group
- PhD-students and Post-Docs from a membership institution of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet in the target countries; no age limit
- Professors, who work at a Eurasia-Pacific Uninet member institution in the target countries
Depending on the study or research project proof of proficiency in English and/or German in the relevant field of specialisation has to be provided.
Grant benefit paid
The quota depends on the budget.
- 940 Euros monthly grant instalment for PhD students; duration of 6 months maximum
- 1,040 Euros monthly grant instalment for Post-docs; duration of 6 months maximum
