Project Support

While scholarships support the mobility of individuals project support offers the possibility to collaborate in research projects with other countries. It is possible to apply for project support in the framework of bilateral agreements or within multilateral networks. It is mainly living costs and travel costs that are funded.

Below an overview of the present support options for international project cooperations can be found:

  • Bilateral Agreements in the framework of Scientific and Technological Cooperation - WTZ (Wissenschaftlich-Technische Zusammenarbeit)  support mobility in the framework of bilateral scientific projects.
  • Bilateral Programmes - “AKTIONEN” (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary): In the framework of the approved projects it is mostly mobility that is supported. Moreover, joint courses, excursions, publications and other scientific activities are also supported.
  • KEF: Commission for Development Studies
  • APPEAR: Austrian Partnership Programme in Higher Education & Research for Development
  • CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies): Enables the establishment of networks between individual higher education institutions in the CEEPUS countries. In the framework of networks the exchange of both lecturers and students is supported.
  • ASEA Uninet: The ASEAN-European Academic University Network includes 70 universities in Europe and South-East Asia and is available for exchange of lecturers and students and joint research projects in almost all disciplines.
  • EPU: EURASIA Pacific Net (East, Central and South Asia): The Eurasia-Pacific Uninet was established in 2001 with the objective of developing an educational network for Austrian universities, universities of applied sciences and other educational institutions in Central Asia, East Asia and the Pacific. It comprises a great number of international partners of all fields of research and supports projects in the areas of research, research-based teaching and art as well as technology cooperations
