Study information

Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) offer full-time and part-time study programmes. Part-time programmes are designed for working students and take their specific situation into account. For the completion of all UAS programmes a relevant thesis and an examination are required.

The number of students per year and programme is limited, and for this reason most of the programmes have an entrance procedure which has to be successfully completed. Depending on the type of the degree programme, the following admission requirements apply: a general matriculation standard (e.g. Austrian school-leaving certificate) or a relevant vocational qualification.

In line with the Bologna Process Universities of Applied Sciences offer Bachelor's and Master's programmes since 2003.

  • UAS bachelor study programmes: 3 years Bachelor
  • UAS master study programmes: 1 - 2 years Master

Graduates of UAS Master's programmes may enrol in doctoral programmes at universities.
