Curricula
The curriculum determines the number of the parts of study, the subjects in which you have to sit examination, possible areas of concentration, the courses on offer and the organisation of the orientation phase.

Academic Degrees
The new University Study Act provides for two types of studies: degree programme studies (ordentliche Studien) and university level / training courses (Universitätslehrgänge). The degree programme studies are divided into bachelor, master’s, diploma and doctoral studies.
- Austrian bachelor programmes, university level courses with school leaving certificate as prerequisite for admission, Fachhochschule bachelor programmes and undergraduate programmes at private universities are recognised as undergraduate studies /ISCED 5A,
- diploma degree programmes, master’s programmes, university level courses with completed bachelor degree as prerequisite for admission, Fachhochschule diploma programmes, Fachhochschule master programmes, graduate programmes at private universities as graduate studies /ISCED 5A,
- doctoral/PhD programmes, licentiate and doctoral programmes at private universities, university level courses with completed diploma degree or master degree as prerequisite for admission as postgraduate studies /ISCED 6.
