Further Education Courses
University Training Courses / University Level Courses are further education courses offered by universities and universities of applied sciences. The courses have specific curricula and convey occupation-related and supplementary qualifications in specific areas.

Requirements
To attend such a further education course you must already have completed a degree programme or have relevant professional experience. The admission requirements are specified by the individual universities and institutions. To allow working people to attend these courses most courses are part-time. Classes are often offered in the evenings or in the form of block courses. Universities of applied sciences are allowed to offer postgraduate further education courses in the fields of study of their accredited Fachhochschule degree programmes (see § 14 a FHStG Abs 1).
Costs
University Training Courses / University Level Courses charge course fees, which are used to cover the costs for the course (administration, remuneration for lecturers, etc.). In addition to these fees participants also have to pay the Student Union fees.
Academic Degrees
University Training Courses / University Level Courses conclude with an academic degree (Master) or an academic title (Academic Expert). They are subject to quality assurance criteria complying to international university standards.
The academic degree of "Master of Advanced Studies" (MAS) is conferred to graduates of university training / university level courses that require the completion of a subject-specific diploma degree programme or equivalent qualification for admission. The lectures and/or seminars of these courses have to amount to at least 50 course hours per semester.
The academic degree of "Master of Business Administration" (MBA) is conferred to graduates, if the course is an internationally comparable university training / university level course in business administration.
An academic title (Academic Expert) is conferred to graduates of university training / university level courses which amount to at least 30 hours of lectures and/or seminars per semester.
