Media and Communication Management (MCM) – Master Exchange Program
The Media and Communication Management (MCM) programme is a one-year study programme for master students in the field of communication sciences and the Center for Advanced Studies and Research in Information and Communication Technologies & Society (ICT&S) of the University of Salzburg on the Austrian part and the Department of Communication, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and the School of Journalism, Fudan University, on the Chinese part. The programme for communication or media scientists and journalism students starts with a common winter semester for the 20 Austrian and 20 Chinese students at the University of Salzburg. The summer semester is spent at Fudan University and an excursion to Beijing, offered by the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), is also included.
Since the establishment of the programme in 2007 more than 180 students have taken part in the exchange programme. In 2010/11 39 students took part in the MCM programme; 20 of them from the University of Salzburg, 16 from Fudan University and 3 from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The coordination of the universities and the application and recruitment of the Chinese students in China, respectively, is taken care of by the Austrian Center Shanghai.
